Makrinitissa Monastery
Volos Municipality, Greece · built 1300
The Makrinitissa Monastery was a Greek Orthodox male monastery at Makrinitsa, near Volos, Thessaly, in central Greece. Built in c. 1205 – c. 1209, the monastery and associated katholikon suffered significant damage due to landslides in the early part of the 18th century. Whilst parts of the structure were later rebuilt, the monastery ceased to function.
