Kyungpook National University (Hanja, abbreviated as KNU or known as Kyungdae) is a national university in Daegu, South Korea, and one of the ten Flagship Korean National Universities representing Gyeongsangbuk Province, of which Daegu was formerly the capital. The university traces its origins to a medical school founded in 1923 and was formally established in September 1946, and it today offers undergraduate and graduate programs across nineteen colleges and schools and fourteen graduate schools, including professional programs in medicine, dentistry, and veterinary medicine.
