Kitadaitō phosphate mine

The Kitadaitōjima Phosphate Mine (Kitadaitōjima rinkōzan) is a former phosphate mine located on the island of Kitadaitōjima, in the Philippine Sea southeast of Okinawa, Japan. It is administratively within the borders of the village of Kitadaitō, Shimajiri District, Okinawa Prefecture. The mine closed in 1950, and in 2017, it was designated as a National Historic Site.
