Simushir

Simushir (Shimushiru-tō, Ainu, Simusir), meaning Large Island in the Ainu language, is an uninhabited volcanic island near the center of the Kuril Islands chain in the Sea of Okhotsk in the northwest Pacific Ocean. It was formerly known as Marikan.
