Gushibaru Shell Mound

The Gushibaru Shell Midden (Gushibaru kaizuka) is an archaeological site in what is now the Kabira neighborhood of the village of Ie, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. The site was designated a prefectural historic site in 1974 and a National Historic Site in 1986, with the area under protection expanded in 1998. The site is known for being where Kyushu-produced Yayoi pottery was first discovered in Okinawa.
